Planning project for Bawtree Sutton
An application for the redevelopment of brownfield site for 60-bed care home was refused by London Borough of Sutton Council in December 2012. On behalf of our client, Ward Associates argued the Council had a far too prescriptive view towards the design and the proposed new building would only have limited impact on the street scene. Furthermore, we also demonstrated to the Planning Inspectorate that the Council’s requirement for planning contributions did not meet the statutory test or the relevant principles within planning guidance. Encouragingly, the inspector, concurred with our submission and allowed the appeal.
